About the 2019 iPod Touch Features

Apple refreshed the iPod touch for the first time in several years, bringing improved processors that make the device that we once held so dear to our hearts faster than ever.

The 2019 iPod Touch doesn’t have any new external design features. It continues to look the same as the prior sixth-generation model did. The iPod Touch has an aluminum shell in one of six different color choices. It has a 4-inch Retina display, and a body that features a Home button but no Touch ID fingerprint sensor available.

Despite the classic, untouched look, the 2019 iPod Touch offers improved gameplay capabilities, more augmented reality, and support for Group FaceTime as a result of its updated A10 Fusion Chip.

Here’s a breakdown of all of the available features on the 2019 iPod Touch.

  • Up to 256 GB of storage
  • Full Apple Music, iTunes, and App Store accessibility
  • A10 Fusion Chip for improved graphics and faster speed performance

  • Group FaceTime
  • Screen Time settings
  • Compatible with all Apple accessories

Why Bring Back the iPod Touch?

Nowadays, parents are allowing their kids to have cell phones at young ages, and these arbitrary age requirements seem to be getting lower and lower. Children as young as 8-years old are walking around with fully-serviced smartphones, able to browse the Internet and make phone calls to anyone.

This may not be the ideal situation for a parent, and so they often hold off on allowing their children to have a phone until they become age-appropriate. However, this usually leaves a conflict.

Technology has become a way of life. People of all ages, walks of life, cultures, etc. are becoming accustomed to having a smartphone as part of their everyday routine.

So because technology has become the norm, why deprive our children of experiencing this same luxury? Most parents argue that they don’t want their child having access to a cellphone. They don’t want them to be able to call anyone or browse the Internet.

Their reasoning is entirely understandable given that the Internet is full of just about anything that you could imagine, with many of those things being highly inappropriate.

Also, there’s a level of danger involved when it comes to a child being able to make phone calls. Some predators roam the world with a sinister intent of harming children.

With all of this in mind, there is a more straightforward solution. Parents can now give their children the luxury of having a smartphone without calling capabilities. They can play games, listen to music, watch videos, communicate through iMessage, take pictures, and so much more.

The latest developments made to the 2019 iPod Touch provide the same features of an iPhone except for the calling features.

Also, there are privacy restrictions and parental controls made available to set the content of the iPod to a controlled setting created by the parents. Here’s how.

Set Content & Privacy Restrictions On 2019 iPod Touch

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Tap “Screen Time”
    3. Tap “Continue,” then choose “This is My [Device]” or “This is My Child’s [Device]”
    4. If you’re the parent or guardian and wish to prevent another family member from changing your settings, tap “Use Screen Time Passcode” to create a passcode.
    5. If you’re setting up “Screen Time” on your child’s device, follow the instructions until you get to “Parent Passcode” and enter a passcode. Re-enter the passcode to confirm.Tap “Content & Privacy Restrictions.” If asked, enter your passcode, then turn on “Content & Privacy”
    6. When doing this, you want to make sure that you’re using a different passcode than the code that you use to unlock the device. To change or turn off the passcode on your child’s device, tap “Settings”> “Screen Time”> [Your Child’s Name].
    7. Then tap “Change Screen Time Passcode” or “Turn Off Screen Time Passcode” and then you’re able to authenticate the change with Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode.

You can also set restrictions on your child’s ability to make purchases on the App Store and iTunes. Limitations are essential, especially since children may see an app that they want to download without knowing that they’re about to make a purchase. You want to ensure that you’re protecting your child from making a mistake that can drastically affect your bank account.
